ENCAPSULGUARD™ is a bright white, acrylic elastomeric with urethane Encapsulment Coating used for safe, economical and effective sealing of lead based paints. This polymer wall restoration system also provides the repairing of damaged or problem surface areas to a continuous wall surface on drywall, block walls and distressed smooth surfaces.
A polyester membrane may be required in extreme situations (PERMAMAT™). A high concentration of adhesive acrylic resin seals and encapsulates problem surfaces, while the addition of urethane resin tightens the film minimizing vapor transmission. This system eliminates the mess of physical or chemical removal, and also the disposal of the contaminated material.
NOTE: This coating should only be applied by trained professionals. It is the responsibility of the applicator to check with local, state, federal and other regulatory organizations for any necessary permits, product approval etc. before using this product. In some states, applicators of this coating must be licensed and approved by a State Certified Government Agency.

ENCAPSULGUARD™ can be used on most any interior or exterior, coated or uncoated surface including:
weathered wood, plywood, drywall, primed metal, galvanized, aluminum, tin, copper, asbestos, asphalt, urethane, polyester, Styrofoam, fiberglass, concrete, masonry, stucco, clay, slate and various other substrates.
SURFACE PREPARATION:
For proper adhesion it is essential that the surface be clean, dry, and all gloss must be removed. Loose or peeling paint must be removed by scraping. Patch and fill all holes, cracks, etc. that are 1/16 of an inch or larger, with PERMAPATCH™, an Elastomeric Caulk & Sealant.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
(Without using Polyester Matting)
Stir contents thoroughly before use. Do not apply when temperatures are below 45 degrees Fahrenheit or when humidity is very high. Apply ENCAPSULGUARD™ using brush, roller or spray at a rate of 100 square feet per gallon. Spread uniformly. Let dry at least 12 hours before applying the second coat. Apply the second coat in the same manner as the first coat.
(Using Polyester Matting)
Figure and cut sections of PERMAMAT™ polyester membrane before applying ENCAPSULGUARD™. Stir contents thoroughly before use. Do not apply when temperatures are below 45 degrees Fahrenheit or when humidity is very high. Apply ENCAPSULGUARD™ using brush, roller or spray at a rate of 100 square feet per gallon. Only apply enough coating to hang a section of PERMAMAT™. Press the matting into the wet coating with a high-density, short-nap roller cover being careful to remove all trapped air and thus forcing the matting into the coating. Apply a light coat of ENCAPSULGUARD™ over the PERMAMAT™ membrane at a rate of 250 to 300 square feet per gallon and let dry for at least 12 hours before applying the second coat. Apply the second coat in the same manner as the first coat but decrease the spread rate to 150 to 200 square feet per gallon.
CLEAN UP:
Clean up all spills, tools and overspray immediately while the coating is still wet with warm soapy water.
